The Beast from the Ocean

The Sea King spoke to the octopus,

"The Lady of the Mountain, the queen I love.
I promised her a horned beast, an animal with branch-like antlers.
But there were no such creatures in this vast ocean.
Become that beast for me."

The octopus ascended the mountain, walking on four legs.
He raised the rest of his legs high up to the sky.
As he grazed on the grass, hair and bones grew from his body.
Thus, the octopus became the first deer.

The Sea King couldn't marry the Lady of the Mountain.
His face, full of barnacles, was too ugly for her beautiful, triangular figure.
